Dream Girl is a collection of costumes, a short film and a performance centered around the gaze towards women in Anime and videogames.

The inspiration for this project bergen with an interesting conversation I had with a friend. We were discussing our mutual interests in video games and anime, then got onto the topic of the infantilization and perversion of anime. I was really fascinated by these ideas and decided to research further, finding out about this concept of ‘fanservice’. This concept basically refers to the more perverted areas of anime, such as upskirting shots, which are made to bring in viewers for this ‘fanservice’. I wanted to explore something like this where the audience becomes the ‘player’ of the game, and the characters can get revenge for this. Key inspirations were games such as Yandere simulator, which i grew up playing and Doki Doki literature club. The final piece was made in the style of playing a dating simulator gone wrong.
